History
The Statutes of the SBCCI have been prepared with the participation of the founding members from both Switzerland and Bangladesh as Switzerland – Bangladesh Business Forum (SBBF). On August 16, 2004, the SBBF was officially formed in Dhaka. All the 16 founding members signed the Statutes of the SBBF. Subsequently on 6th October, the Forum was formally launched with a hosting of a gala ceremony at Hotel Sheraton and the first nine member Executive Committee was installed.

Bangladesh enjoys excellent political relations with Switzerland. Switzerland has been providing development cooperation to Bangladesh ever since the latter’s independence. However, trade and commerce between these two countries did not flourish to the extent it could have been. There are many potential business areas where Switzerland and Bangladesh could cooperate more extensively for their mutual benefit.
